"glueing" Clay With High Fire Glazes

Recommended Posts

This might be a very stupid question, so bear with me. Recently one of my pieces has split at the bottom (I made it too thick). I have both pieces and I know that when glazes are fired they connect with anything they touch. Is it possible to reattach the pieces just by glazing the sides that are detached?

Neil said it. The glaze won't bond it unless it is something small and working with gravity.

It this piece in the bisqued state? Is it green? If either of this, you could put it together with spoke...a paper clay patch. Re bisque and then glaze. Very important to re bisque.

If it split because of the thickness and uneven thickness. it could happen again.
