Mark C.
There is always some confusion on what size plugs to use on electric kilns-is the plug big enough? Will it handle the amps? Can I plug it into my house wiring-all these details seem confusing . This is the plug I use and it has unlimited amps. Its a bit unruly to plug in at first but once its in no worries. This ones a special order model and not available at any big box stores. It best to know someone who is high up in the local electric supply company.I call him a yes man. Its hooked right into the grid so it never gets warm to the touch. Check with a qualified electrician to see if you can have one installed nearby. I ordered mine in white but Ivory color is available Ask some friends over to help you plug it in once installed-happy firing.

Guest
I'm surprised the Fire Marshall approved that plug without a ground?

JohnnyK
It seems you went a little crazy with all the profits from your last AZ sale I think you should have gone with ivory!
Mark C.
I'm surprised the Fire Marshall approved that plug without a ground? The marshall could not get over the fact that I had my own tower of power. I think he signed me off so fast as he was afraid that Godzillia would show up soon and start fire breathing the tower wires.

glazenerd
Mark: According to my last power bill: my wife has something plugged into that. Explains the sun tan I get while sitting under the can lights. Nerd
Mark C.
Nerd you live where power is next to free-they pay you to use the power right?-I cannot even guess what you could be doing that would make your bill cost much. Maybe a 2 hundred foot Tesla power tower in the backyard?
Marcia Selsor
Wiring the kiln shed will be my next project after my kilns arrive. Already spoke with the locals at the electric company. We had a nice long chat about all sorts of things. Good news for me is the power supply is next to my kiln shed. Marcia
Dick White
You should be careful parking all your cars like that in the garage with the kiln when it is running... ;-)

oldlady
mark, isn't that plug receiving all the solar power generated by all those bobbleheads? oh, wait. there are no cords on those silly things. hhhmmmm...........
Mark C.
With all the electric questions of late I thought this one on what size plug to use may help some folks again. Now with a Big Kiln you need a Big Plug. This plug takes three big persons to put it in the socket at least 4 to get it out. Notice the power tower so amps is of No issue.Any other electric issues Neil is your go to guy on this board but I'm good with the big stuff as seen here.
