arcadiax
Hi all, Quick question about Darvan the deflocculant. I used it successfully and it is truly a wonderful thing. But has anyone encountered an issue where if you leave the batch of slip overnight, it becomes very thick again in the morning? Adding a couple drops of darvan usually helps again along with a mixer. Using a mixer again by itself helps somewhat but does Darvan degrade very quickly over time and that we have to keep adding or does it just lose its charge...? My ratio of water to dry material is 100% dry material and 45% water. Thanks a bunch ^O^;; - Steven
Joseph Fireborn
How new was the batch of slip? I find sometimes with a glaze I just mixed if I use darvan right away I have to use it again later as the glaze materials are still absorbing the water, or what ever the scientific term for that is.
