SandyJane
Just wondering if some kind soul can give me a push in the right direction of what I may be doing wrong with my naked raku adventures. I am using 80 Ball Clay and 20 Silica. I have measured the gravity and have tried with 1:3 heavy, 1:2 light cream to 1:1 full cream milk but I can't get it to stick to my bisque ware. It peels when drying. I bisque to 900 C. I am located in Australia so maybe it is because we are upside down!!! If anyone can suggest what I can do other than throwing the bucket away and starting again, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.
MatthewV
I recall using slip that was made from the same clay body but that it shouldn't matter too much. Maybe your recipe is too smoothly plastic to bind well.
SandyJane
Thank you for your help. Think you're right. I will try increasing the silica to 4/10 rather than 2/10.
