sarita
I am new at this forum, have great expectations. My problem is that when I make a sculpture that is higher than my kiln, after the firing, the parts just don't match. I can see in other ceramicists work, that it can be done to perfection. What?
If the piece is multi sectional I would design the piece around where the joint is. In some cases the seam is hidden or is accentuated. Epoxy, threaded rod, rebar, and concrete are used to fix the pieces together.
Benzine
What temperature are you firing at? At low fire temps, you can just build the entire sculpture at once, then cut it to fit the kiln. After the firing, things should fit the same. But with mid to high fire temps, the pieces can warp, when not fired together.
