WUVIE
I found a few sites online that discuss Once or Single Fire glazing methods. 1. http://westfarmarts....singlefire.html 2. http://cone6pots.nin...in-the-cone-5-7 Kelly Kelly, thank you! I would really like to try the Single Fire method on smaller projects such as refrigerator magnets, medallions, etc. and think this will work wonderfully! I appreciate the links! WUVIE
Hi all. First of all...... welcome Karen..... glad to have you participate in this forum. I noticed a recommendation in this thread to use dry talc to act as a resist to wet clay sticking to metal. If you are considering this, you might want to research a bit about the raw material TALC and the concerns that exist about potential asbestos contamination in the product. This issue has been discussed in the ceramic community for that past few years. http://www.ncbi.nlm..../pubmed/6494497 http://www.ct.gov/dp...tClayLetter.pdf http://www.cdc.gov/n...gAsbestosTR.pdf http://minerals.usgs...talc/650400.pdf best, .................john John, thank you for the warm welcome and the great advice. As someone with sensitive lungs, (trying to fight my way out of pneumonia as I type this) I can't take chances with dusts, powders and such. I truly appreciate your post!
