Due Diligence

Has anyone, (esp. potters from London) heard of the Parallax Art Fair and the manager Tom Moore? Seems crazy to me to ship things across the ocean to an art fair but that is what the request is. Hoping some locals there could tell me more than what I can find out on the web.

This night be a variation on the various scams that artists are getting about "I want to buy your work for my shop in XXXXXXXXXX.  Do you take credit cards?."  I get about one a day of those.

International exhibitions can certainly be OK.... just check the exchange rate issues (your currency value compared to the currency of the host country) to see if it makes any sense economically at your price points.   And also the median income of the host country to see what the market for your type of artwork might be like.  Plus check the potential VAT/tax and Duty issues.  Then there is the shipping cost to add into all that.

best,

I got an invite from this or another like this a few years ago as well.

I did not make sense then and it still does not._Heck I have turned down a few shows in Canada due to border trade issues and the headache of duty.
