cf66
Hi all, I'm just in love with this look and wonder how it's achieved: with underglaze over a white glaze? dipping a powdered (undiluted) mason stain over the wet white glaze? with drops of water on underglaze applied over wet white glaze? a cobalt oxide wash? Anyone??Thanks!
terrim8
Diffusion. Look up Mocha Diffusion and you will read about the general technique. It looks like they likely used cobalt carbonate with vinegar applied to wet slip. I like this technique too. Looks like the banding wheel may have been used for the edge. There actually is a water colour effect but it involves highly toxic materials.
Min
My guess would be water soluble metal salts. http://ceramicartsdaily.org/ceramic-glaze-recipes/glaze-chemistry-ceramic-glaze-recipes-2/salts-of-the-earth/
