I was trying to find a way but it looks like it need to be turned on/installed before it is possible. I would love a way to do it. Links are boring. GEP Posted April 12, 2016 Report Share Posted April 12, 2016 I'm not sure I understand the request. Do you want Instagram posts to appear fully (photo and caption) in your posts? Like when you link to a youtube video it embeds into the post instead of just having a hyperlink to the website. It doesn't have to come with all the captions and comments but sometimes I would like to share things I have uploaded there in my posts here. Don't know the software side but a quick search for BBcode embed instagram produced quite a few things. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=4059 I dislike reading through posts and having to click links to see a picture or video and then go back to continue reading. High Bridge Pottery Posted April 12, 2016 Author Report Share Posted April 12, 2016 This time round it was a video I was trying to link to, if it had been a picture I would have uploaded it to a gallery as a workaround but I really didn't feel like uploading the video to youtube so I could embed it into my post. The stuff is already on Instagram so having to redo something that could be embedded seems silly. I think enough potters use it that it would be a good feature to have. Guest Sherman Posted April 13, 2016 Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 Hi everyone, YouTube provides embed links, and we allow html in posts so they happen to work just like other links, etc., with no extra "weight" on the site, since the video is fed from youtube. We're not actively trying to incorporate social media feeds, since this is really not meant to be a social media interface, and that would add far too much moderation load to our awesome moderators. If Instagram offers embed links, then it may very well work the same way, but it's not something we are able to add to the forum ourselves. Thanks for understanding. High Bridge Pottery Posted April 13, 2016 Author Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 Hi Sherman, I think I have misrepresented my intentions, I am not looking for my social media feeds to automatically show here or anything along those lines. There would be no more moderation than already happens, maybe even less as they no long have to click a link to check it. Instagram do provide some embed code but I can't get it to work. I can't actually get youtubes code to work as I think something forum software side is converting the html into bbcode that is forum specific and safer from what I have read.
