Your Typical Spring Plant And Garden Event . . .

Recommended Posts

Yesterday and today was the American Horticultural Society Spring Garden Sale at River Farm near Mount Vernon, VA. Anyone can buy plants in 60F and sunny weather; today, we found out who the real gardeners were -- rain/ice/snow, 40F, and wind gusts 30+mph.

Friday's sales were nice; today's . . . well, ended up with a new high for a two-day show. The real gardeners came out.

Wow what dedication, hope you had a hip flask there. Gardeners are just as mad a sPotters.

Makes my whining over a stiff sou' easterly straight from the Antartic sooo petty.

Glad for you that people still could get money out of purses with such frozen fingers.

I am impressed! I love preparing gardens for Spring planting. Bet your customers were optimistic that Spring IS coming!

I was working in my garden today putting in heat resistant tomatoes. Having some Big Boys with dinner tonight which I planted last Fall. Being down here really makes me forget cold weather and the much later Spring in places. But I did garden in Montana for 31 years.

Boy! Ya really had me going there for a moment, Bruce. I saw the location of the event as Mount Vernon, WASHINGTON! (yes, there is a Mount Vernon, Washington) That kind of weather is not uncommon for Mt. Vernon WA, at this time of year. Ya really had me scratching my head, trying to figure out why you would be doing an event on the other side of the country from your listed location!!  LOL! Glad you had such a good turn out!
