New Bartlett Controler

Recommended Posts

I see Bartlett has a new touch screen controller coming out soon. They told me it won't be out until late march due to further testing. Might have to look into this one when I get rid of my sitter. Will most likely end up with 3 zone control on my 1027-3

Yes, very exciting. I emailed them with some questions about its functionality, but they didn't respond. I'm going to keep trying to get more info. They may not want to tell us anything until it's ready to go. I have confirmed that this will be available on L&L kilns, and probably any other manufacturer that uses Bartlett products. Hopefully it will have a ton of diagnostic tools to track element life, relay actuations, firings costs, etc. Ideally I'd also like to see it have remote access, so firings can be monitored off site.

I emailed them as well and got a response that they would keep me updated when it come out.

Here is what there website says about it

Genesis

This unit will be the next generation of kiln controllers with its modern and intuitive user platform. But, because results are what counts, this one also includes the knowledge that is at the heart of every Bartlett controller . We design, manufacture and sell all of our controllers with our customers at the forefront of that process and we insist on procedures and systems to continue to be a reliable and consistent resource for artists. The control strategies that have produced so many successful firings with Bartlett controllers will only be enhanced by this new format of display and user interface. Although we have been testing, evaluating and revising the user experience of these controllers for some time, we expect to be shipping production levels of these units, January 1, 2016.

  • Features

This controller will make firing kilns just a little bit easier in these ways:
*touch-screen technology for the user interface
    *easy-to-follow screen descriptions
*different user-interface levels, which can be set to match the user’s firing knowledge
*graphical display of the firing process right at the controller
*continuing use of decades of Bartlett expertise on kiln control

The Evenheat $500 is if you are converting from their earlier model. It sounds as though it might be more costly as a stand alone.

Being able to change things mid-fire sounds good, but probably a rarely used feature. Unless of course you programmed one of the user schedules incorrectly and want to make a change. Been there, Bartlett didn't like the idea
