ronfire
Well managed to build the sales studio in time for christmas sales. There is still some trim work and lighting under the shelves to finish up yet. Here are a few pictures. The counter tiles have a few warps in them as I was rushed to get it done. Shaw Cable did another article on us with the pottery, should air soon. Love the free advertising. Never thought when I started pottery in the spring it would lead to this. Now I just need them to sell so I can make more. .
LeeU
Nice-looks fresh and uncluttered & the wood tones are lovely, The shop looks inviting to move around in, without the customers having to worry about knocking into stuff (something I am always fearful of as a shopper when I am navigating crowded booths!). Happy trails (happy sales ).
oldlady
it is wonderful! what a friendly little building, inviting and warm looking in the snow. cannot believe you just started in the spring. do you paint all those plates? they look as though they are individually painted, not decals. good job! the whole shebang! your shelf supports really emphasize the ranch look. you might consider grouping some of the chalices or wine glasses. they look like they are standing on a parade field waiting for the general's inspection. GiselleNo5
W O W , looks fantastic! Very cohesive look with the wood and fabric, they are well chosen to go with your pottery. Loooooove the tile countertop (if that's what it is). So wonderful!
ronfire
My wife does all the painting of the pottery as well as the artwork in the studio and I do the building and kiln work. She worked for Safeway for too many years, it shows in the way she sets up the shelves. I plan to rearrange a little when she is not there. I am keeping an eye open for a multi level display table for the middle, saw one last year but did not need it then. If I can not find one I will have to build it instead. Denice
Congratulation on finishing in time for Christmas, everything is looking good. More vignettes and less grocery store, vignettes draw attention and sell more product. You'll overhear customers talking about how cute those look together and end up buying two or three pieces just because they were together. As artist we assume that most customers have some artistic sensibility, we are wrong. I was a decorator for 15 years and I had customers that couldn't even pick out a favorite color, if you showed them more than 3 wallpaper or fabric samples they got confused. If they insisted on seeing a lot more samples I would slip the first three I had picked out into the bottom of the pile. They would always pick one of those, I would put your most expensive work where it was the most visible when you walk into the door. Good Luck Denice
drmyrtle
First of all, can I have the cabin!!!??? Secondly, what are y'all referring to with "too much Safeway"? I get the grocery store reference, but I don't understand it in this context. What would you be doing differently, where and why?
ronfire
All the wine goblets are lined up and spaced like she did when working for Safeway. Good in that application but kind of dull in a studio.

Joseph Fireborn
So how has sales been!?
ronfire
The sales from the studio have not been good, think it has been 2 people with about $200. The sales from the internet have been better and have been mailing orders everyday. I had to have a place to put the finished products anyway so the building is not a waste, cost was about $5,500.-- if things don't work can always be a nice guest cabin.
