Primitive Build

Recommended Posts

The link below is for a film of a fellow who built a hut with a clay tile roof, mud and stone walls and underfloor heating. All done with handmade primitive tools and technology. I thought it was quite the feat he accomplished. This was posted a few days ago on Clayart, thought I would share the link for those that don't follow that site.

Min,

I saw that on Facebook a little while ago. Very interesting. There was a session at NCECA a few years ago about building cob houses. It is very ecological. There were some that looked much more hobbit-like with flowing organic forms.

Thanks for posting.

That video was great! Hell of a lot of work though. Would those tiles stay on that roof?

TJR.

That's what I was wondering, too. It seems like a good wind would lift them right off. I think he should have put a hole through the tang so he could lash them to the supports. Pretty cool over all, though.
