Artist Reception Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM in the Studio Gallery, American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA), Pomona, CA

 

Join us for a fantastic Hands-On Raku workshop with two Raku Masters:  Jim Romberg and Patrick Crabb.  Here is a brief list of some of what they will be covering:

  • Considerations for surface treatment.  
  • To Glaze or Not to Glaze­—That is the Question.  How to glaze ?
  • Exercises to expand vision and understanding of surface and form
  • 101 varieties of glaze application  
  • The relation of glaze to form.
  • Making your own brushes.
  • Special reduction techniques and materials
  • Combination wheel and hand building works from small to large “one-of-a-kind†pieces
  • Low temp firings to include raku/low fire salt/sawdust/sugar
  • Assembling/finalizing a deconstruction piece
  • Creativity exercises—AND MORE!!!

    Fee: $285 OR $265 for studio members and members of ACS So Cal, AMOCA, Ventura Co. Potter’s Guild and San Diego Clay Artists

     Potluck lunches both days.
     Bring throwing tools and 4 small to medium sized pieces of bisque.
