macw1_2000
I accidentally fired a glaze load at a bisque temp. Opened up the kiln and none of the glaze melted. Can I refire at the proper temperature or I do just need to consider this a learning experience and toss everything?
Benzine
You can absolutely refire. The only big firing issue, with the glaze firing, is over firing, where the wares start to melt. Under firing, is almost never an issue, because you can refire. In fact, you can also take wares that were fired fully, touch up glaze that didn't turn out, and refire those. The only thing you lost was the cost of the firing, and a bit of time. But better than a load of work!
macw1_2000
THANK YOU!!!! I put in SO much time in design that I was pretty bummed when I opened up the kiln this morning. Going to refire in the morning!!!
Benzine
Not a problem. What Cone are you firing to, and what Cone did you mistakenly fire to?
