Hi From Tallahassee Fll

Recommended Posts

There's not a meet and greet section so I thought Id post here.

new potters here. We have taken a cople classes and decided to jump in. i am building a 2 hp wheel(access to a machine shop) and cant justify the cost for something this simple. Bought a Skutt KS1027 kiln only to get in a huge wreck on the way home so waiting so see who will pay to repair the kiln. Going to build and electronic kiln controller(Eiher PC, rasberry pie, or PID based)

we are married with a 3 year old pot, dog and house..

Heres to more post with funness we create. I'll try to post info with what I do for the DIY stuff to help other as I get it figured out.

I have a mechanical engineering backround my best friend (electricle engineer) is also involved in this adventure.

Happy throwing

GG

Welcome to the forum GG! We are happy that you have found the way to the ceramic arts community and we hope to see/read a lot of posts from you! You could start in telling us a bit more about yourself, what kind of pottery you make, and fill out your profile. If you have already pictures of your work that you can put in your gallery that would be great. Every Tuesday is a new QOTW (that's: Question Of The Week) in the Potters Council operation and benefits section, and I hope to see you there.

I am sorry you had an accident on your way home. I hope you are all right!

Happy potting

Evelyne

my work is mostly functinoal cookwear/dinner wear. As a result of helping me with the controller my friend wants to attempt to make a green egg varriant. I have exsplained it may be easier to buy one, but he is willing to buy the clay and pay the bill so i'll post on that when we get there.

Welcome aboard! I'm up in NE Georgia. It seems like you have some great knowledge of building and DIY! A lot of potters get very creative with re-purposing items and scrounging  for parts and collecting bric-a-brac for their studios (I know I do!). I hope to see some of your projects! And of course your pots

Welcome to the forums. When doing a search, best to be outside of any specific forum. Use keywords as much as possible. Searches can also be done at Ceramic Arts Daily for videos and daily topics. Lots of info, great community, and all levels of expertise and skills.

So enjoy, and Welcome to the forums!

best,

Pres
