Val
I am using a kiln right now that asks for every detail of the firing. I must give rate of heat increase per hour up to a given temperature, then the next rate of increase etc. until temperature is reached. Does anyone know where I can find a cone 06 glaze schedule ? Have not had luck with a google search Thanks all ! Val
High Bridge Pottery
http://s3.excoboard.com/forums/11741/user/111587/105356.jpg Not a complete schedule but to reach a cone you go a certain degrees per hour for the last certain amount of degrees, see linked table. The rest is really up to you and what you're happy with/clay happy with/kiln happy with. I find 100degc/212degf per hour to be an acceptable start as it copies a medium bisque rate but you can go a lot faster.
Joseph Fireborn
L&L has a website with all their glazing and bisque profiles: http://www.hotkilns.com/easy-fire-programs If you scroll down to Cone 06 on the right side they have a firing schedule for a glaze firing. Slow and Fast. Every kiln is different, your glazes are going to need specific care in heat work, holds, and cools. Just be aware that you should test some work first before you just fire away at this temp. Be ready to modify and adapt it to your glazes and work. Marcia Selsor
download a manual for the controller. You should learn how to program it. If you are in a community setting, the manual should already be available. Marcia
