Chantay
I plan to mix up some SCM to try over and under several glazes. I plan to dip and pour. Does anyone have experience using this? Any advice or suggestions?

Joseph Fireborn
I have been reading about it for days. I have also been thinking about using it in combination with some other glazes that I like. My issue is I want to use it near the bottom of the pot, and everything I have read says to stay away from that. = )
Denice
I have used the warm SCM on a couple of kiln loads of pots, I sprayed the SCM and then brush, dipped or drizzled different glazes, usually one glaze on the top edge another on the neck and a third on the body or I'll brush streaks of glaze vertically. Don't put any glaze on top of the SCM around the bottom edge, I usually leave several inches of bare SCM. It's depends on how big the piece and much you think the glaze will run. I am mostly playing with it and get some pretty spectacular results, my next load I am going to use the cool SCM. The test pots aren't as exciting but I thought I would try it anyways just have fun with it. Denice
Joseph Fireborn
Denice can you post some pictures please?
Chantay
I found a facebook page for John Britt's new book. Several people posted pics of having used it. Most showed multiple glazes on the same pot. So it was hard to ascertain what was really happening. Mixing up new test glazes this week. Will add it to the list and report in a week or two. Will make some extra tall test tiles.
Joseph Fireborn
In stephen hills videos he says to make a pot with base SCM then layer as many glazes as you can on the pot in vertical stripes to see the effects. that is probably the reason your seeing that. Rebekah Krieger
I have played around with strontium cm Warm a little bit. I have not had trouble with running yet. I have brushed it on pots, dipped it, and blown it on with an atomizer. I like the blown on look the best. usually I have the heavier saturation of it near the bottom. If ever in doubt put it on a cookie imo. You never know unless you fire it. I have used it mostly under commercial glazes to test out how it changes things. The mug and bowl is with it blown under amaco's new celadons in "ice". You can see the scm makes it white in those areas. (it is a brown stoneware clay body)
Chantay
Rebecca, Nice mug and bowl. Not what expected though. Moving at the normal snail pace around here. Bought supplies last week, but the humidity is keeping everything in the studio wet. At least no handles are cracking. My anal self can't fire unless the kiln is full. So waiting. Should be glazing by Sunday.
