      Moderators needed!   12/08/2017

Ceramic Arts Network is looking for two new forum moderators for the Clay and Glaze Chemistry and Equipment Use and Repair sections of the Ceramic Arts Network Community Forum. We are looking for somebody who is an active participant (i.e. somebody who participates on a daily basis, or near daily) on the forum. Moderators must be willing to monitor the forum on a daily basis to remove spam, make sure members are adhering to the Forum Terms of Use, and make sure posts are in the appropriate categories. In addition to moderating their primary sections, Moderators must work as a team with other moderators to monitor the areas of the forum that do not have dedicated moderators (Educational Approaches and Resources, Aesthetic Approaches and Philosophy, etc.). Moderators must have a solid understanding of the area of the forum they are going to moderate (i.e. the Clay and Glaze Chemistry moderator must be somebody who mixes, tests, and has a decent understanding of materials). Moderators must be diplomatic communicators, be receptive to others’ ideas, and be able to see things from multiple perspectives. This is a volunteer position that comes with an honorary annual ICAN Gold membership. If you are interested, please send an email outlining your experience and qualifications to jharnetty@ceramics.org.

  1. Hi, my name is Celinda and I'm new to this forum. My dad is having a rough time financially right now so he's having me sell some of his items on eBay. One of the items is a beautiful native american vase by Robin Sanchez Aragon. I was hoping some of you nice people Ceramic Arts Daily could tell me if I have it priced correctly or if I'm way off. I read the FAQ & it says I can't put a link to my eBay listing, so instead I'm posting a picture of the piece & the description. I've priced it at $345.00 based on another piece by her that is going for 429 Euros ($455) elsewhere on the internet. I'll thank you in advance for any help. Here's the description: Thank you!!
  2. Hey guys, I have a custom order starting where the client would like 25 units of an existing vessel I have (cup sized pourer), and 25 of a smaller cup to be designed. Both are very minimal, flat slipcast colours, clear glaze. My question is- my existing vessel is $25 each ordinarily and I foresee the cup would be 16-18$ each ordinarily- would normal etiquette be to decrease this price for this larger order and if so by how much? Very newbie question I'm sorry but I'm a little in the dark. Any help would be great. Thanks, J
  3. I set up a Poll, hopefully it works... Ahh...the polling software has changed since I was away. After reviewing the options, it is easy to pick a lot of options. Try to only pick your "go to" pot, your absolute favorite(s) to make.
