  1. I forgot to mark the identifying numbers on some test tiles. Is there a way to mark the bisque ware before glazing?
  2. I have to confess that over the last forty or so years, most of my pots have been marked either with my signature or initials scratched into the base of the pot. But lately I've noticed that a nice clean stamped mark is much better looking, at least to my eyes. Recently I designed a stamp for future pots that has a slightly stylized adaptation of my initials, and I like it better. How do other potters feel about this issue? My excuse for the scratched signature is basically laziness and not paying enough attention to that detail, but I'm sure other folks have different thoughts on the matter, and I'd love to hear them.
