  3. So I recently bought a kiln and don't know a lot about how glazes work - will figure it out as I go along. Just had a question. How is the effect in the attached teapot achieved? Can I dip bisqueware in white and then paint on top of it with underglaze and then fire? How else would I be able to achieve a white base with painted pattern on top? Appreciate any advice.
  4. Hi, my name is Celinda and I'm new to this forum. My dad is having a rough time financially right now so he's having me sell some of his items on eBay. One of the items is a beautiful native american vase by Robin Sanchez Aragon. I was hoping some of you nice people Ceramic Arts Daily could tell me if I have it priced correctly or if I'm way off. I read the FAQ & it says I can't put a link to my eBay listing, so instead I'm posting a picture of the piece & the description. I've priced it at $345.00 based on another piece by her that is going for 429 Euros ($455) elsewhere on the internet. I'll thank you in advance for any help. Here's the description: Thank you!!

  10. From the album Wheel Thrown Work, 2015

Thrown in B-Mix. I carved the poppies then applied Duncan's Bright Kiwi to the stems and leaves, their Light Pink to some flowers, and a mix of their Bright Pink and Light Saffron to get peach. The yellow is Laguna's Yemen Yellow Engobe, and some of the poppies are done in a thin layer of Dynasty Red so it shows up lightly and doesn't overpower the pastels. Interior and top is glazed in Laguna's Peach Blush and exterior has one of their clear glazes. I really, truly loved how this one came out. It's for once even better than I imagined.

From the album Work in Progress

This was a mug body that got way too thin and started to ripple, so I went with it. I really like the result and plan to make something like this again only on purpose this time.
