Workhouse Arts Center 9518 Workhouse Way Lorton, Virginia 22079 Workhouse Ceramics Workshop Kevin Crowe-Working at the Edges $250.00 September 24 – October 23, 2016 Exhibit (Building W-16-1st floor) October 21-Reception and Artist Talk-7pm-9pm (Building W-8) October 22-23, 2016 Workshop 10am-4pm (Building W-8) In this workshop we will explore shapes that work in a wood firing—pots that catch ash and deflect flame. We’ll throw and alter tea bowls and bottles and throw larger forms in sections. Participants are asked to bring a pot that inspires them (or a picture of one), and a poem to share during tea. Workshop participants should also plan to participate in group discussions, bring a bag lunch, and a sketchbook. Students will be contacted when pots made are bisque fired and ready for pick-up. Register online (after 4/1/2016) at www.workhousearts.org or Call Dale Marhanka-Ceramics/Glass Director at 703-584-2982
