  1. "I'll Drink to That" A National Exhibition of Drinking Vessels This show opens with a reception for the artists on Friday, August 4, from 6 to 8 pm. It remains on view, Thursday to Sunday, from 10 am through 5pm, through August 27. The premise of the special exhibition is to underscore the aesthetics and diversity of high end ceramic artists creating functional but exquisite objects. More than twenty-five ceramic artists from as far away as Oregon and Arizona as well as local and regional potters will exhibit. Ceremonial tea bowls, wine cups, whisky cups, juice cups, steins, chowder mugs and more will be available for purchase. A variety of clays, techniques, glazes and firing processes will be represented. During the busy summer season there is a lot of tourism in the community drawn by proximity to MASS MoCA, The Clark Art Institute, Williams College Museum of Art and the Berkshire Artists Museum. 3. I live in North Central Ohio between Columbus and Cleveland. After 32 years in art education I started selling my work in 2013. In 2014 I did three art festivals and four in 2015. Going forward I would like to find more galleries and stick with just a few art festivals. Our area is more small town and rural and does not have much traffic in any local venues. Both Cleveland and Columbus are within a 1 1/2 hour drive. I have my work in a Columbus gallery that does very well. I would like to find something in the Cleveland area too. Can anyone recommend a good strategy for identifying and contacting a new gallery? I have a website and facebook page listed below. Is there a directory of galleries or a optimum time of year to contact galleries? Thanks for any advice. http://www.elaineclapperceramics.com https://www.facebook.com/Elaine-Clapper-Ceramics-590741237624185/
  4. Several people have mentioned needing instructions for uploading images to the Gallery. I put together the attached pdf today while listening to a boring town hall meeting at work. This is step by step creating a new album and uploading images with screenshots of each step. If additional instructions for modifying an existing album are needed, let me know. I have learned so much about ceramics from this group in such a short time that I wanted to help however I can ... my day job is computers so this I can contribute!
