Totally meant to do some volumetric blending but been distracted talking to local coffee roasters. Managed to get some green beans from them to try pan roasting.
waiting for my kiln to cool..... glaze firing with my first tiles!!
You know it is the end of the semester when the shelves you are using to re-load the kiln are still warm from the previous firing. Proof that a little procrastination goes a long way :)
the smoke from the Yucatan is gone with a strong cool front from the north. Perfect weather to finish all my raku pieces.
got some new shelves. every time I put one side together the other falls apart. I managed to walk away before throwing the pieces down the street!
Having an attack of nerves over applying to the biggest show I've ever applied to....

Finally hooking my kiln up this weekend. Been a rough couple weeks, but hot-place or high water, I`m cranking out yarn bowls like a madrodent.
Well, mixing all the different clays together worked for the pit fired bowls. I decided to make a fiber tempered vessel and didn't remember how to add Spanish Moss to clay, so I threw 8 lbs. clay on top of a mass of moss...Did not work...So I cut the Spanish Moss into 4 inch sections and wedged that in bit by bit. That worked, so I added moss until I got tired adding moss. Now all there is to do is to fire it next week.
Oh man, one 35 square test done and I am pooped. They really take some concentration.
A6000 camera just arrived! Now to figure out how to run it to take some really good RAW data pottery pictures.
