Back to the classroom for 8 weeks wearing my uncomfortable instructor hat... clay and forums will have to wait, but it is a 'separation' not a 'divorce'. Later, ya'll!

Wedged about 70 pounds of clay today, if I'm to continue to make my own clay I think I'll need a pugmill, and a mixer

Not yet. The centre's kiln failed to reach temperature. Again. Now the kiln techs have agreed with the experts here - new elements needed. So once again, my little kiln will get fired - manana :-)

Late night purchase of Kanthal A1 wire. How hard can it be to make an element?

We found the tricky part was figuring out the length to cut the wire.

Well the wire has arrived :D £6 for 50m. Hopefully that will make the two elements that I need. Need some insulating fire bricks now! They are a lot more of my hard earned money :(

Back from NC, great conference considering everything. Looks like next year they are going to have 3 Japanese potters from Japan, and a tea master for an authentic tea ceremony. I can't remember the names, but it sounded like they should be pretty reputable. John you may know them if I could remember names. Very tired after the long drive.

I don't usually look at "status" thjngs but happened to catch this. Yeah.... if you remember the names let me know. I'd be interested. We've got Matsuzaki Ken-san coming in to do a workshop (again ) for us at NHIA in the spring. It is an open to the public kind of register-for-it event... so if you are interested... let me know. best,............john

Reminds me when fluoro lights flickered we got the kids to all point at it, polite point!!!, and sometimes the magic worked and the flicker went away! SO if everyone..... perhaps you would get summer!
