Heck, I don't see that as a big deal for someone as gifted as you. I wish I had your work ethics. Best wishes Marcia. And hopefully one day I will get down to visit you. With advance notice, of course.

Having trouble getting to sleep? Ordered a 1000 lbs of clay. Always an incentive to start making.

I thought Community Challenge #5 would be a cake walk because I am a tile guy. After seeing just a few posts, I am getting very very nervous. Forgot how talented the people are in here. Do judges take bribes?

Glazing. Its what happens to people who enjoy making things but then can't always decide what those things should look like once fired :)

I know how I'm going to glaze something as soon as I texture it, but I still put off glazing till I absolutely have to. I'm definitely a mud potter.

an archaeologist friend of mine is currently working on the relocation of southeastern Indian tribes based on cerarefevidence. After the collapse of the chiefdom societies the tribes dispersed in all directions leaving a trail of ceramic debris. The timeline is from 1050 to 1700 CE!

Joseph, you should try a currie tile next time. Once you try it you won't go back :D

I thought about a currie tile or a tri blend. I am not sure where to start. I probably wont even worry about it for a while as I have so much other more important work to do. Maybe when I get some slow time or I just feel like taking a break to experiment.

Posted some of the stuff from the kiln, just a few pictures. My wave mug came out ok. Needs more work. Can't wait to put that on the inside of a large shallow bowl.

I have to re-throw a series of spoon rests for a housing development this morning. I threw them in white stoneware, turned my head to look at this mug on the shelf. It was the mug the customer pointed at for glaze selection. How did I get that irony green rim? Duh! Hazelnut brown clay... 24 hazelnut brown spoon rests coming up!

And now you have back stock. You happy with Hazelnut vs 266?

I like them both... The hazelnut is 211, a bit darker than 112 and no specs. 266 is almost black, very reactive. We us 266 for flower pots. The 211 we're doing a line of "Farm House" dinnerware. With a Tin Ox glaze. These were sort of freaks. This guy walked in and saw this mug that was left out and loved it because the colors matched their corporate colors perfectly. So, Elizabeth sold the glaze-which is exactly what she was suppose to do. No biggie, I have the almost all done no...

I'll take the "do remember me..." over the "Hey, can I pitch a tent in yore driveway and look over your shoulder for 3 days whiles you makes and fire pottery...you won't even know I'm thar!" :)
