Por fin! I finally get to finish a lot of raku pieces with the new air pen. I hope it works as well as I think it will.

I opened up a bag of clay that I mixed, pugged, and wrapped over a year ago...I am more convinced than ever that age improves throwing (at least for the clay...hopefully for the maker).

Preston can speak with experience in dealing with frozen/thawed clay. I still wedge my clay (perhaps less if pugged & de-aired)even if it has aged.

Frozen clay is easy to start with wedging if you cut 2" off of each side of block and reverse to the inside, then let sit for a few more days.

I think a year should greatly improve both.

:>( I have a friend of a friend who has relatives in Denver who maybe,
perhaps, might drive back from Wetumpka to Denver with some empty bowls. I might ask them anyway, even though they drove back 2 weeks ago. They should be back in 6 months or so. Good luck with your event.

Why do pets have to take such a huge piece of our hearts when they go? :'(

You are brave Alabama ... Around my house some other animal would dig up that tasty bulb then the whole story would end badly!

Chris - I can't think of any vermin that eats our Jonquil, i.e. Dafodil bulbs. We have possums which become roadkill while eating roadkill. We have "possums on the half shell",
    a.k.a Armadillos
which eat worms and grubs. Thats why we can put bulbs at graves and mark
property lines, to keep surveyors accurate.

I love the Rainbow Bridge poem. I share it with friends who have lost their pets. Always brings a tear to my eye.
