'week # 2 of throwing, did better. not near as many falls due to weak bases and/or weak lower walls.. Our pulling is getting better but still a challenge for us.. we made 20 pots on saturday with decent results for being rookies, alot to learn...

Hi Lou, this is the info I saw: I teach a clay class at McDaniel College , Westminster Maryland . We haven't used our Walker Pugmill in many years. It is in good shape. maybe a couple blades are bend but it runs and is ready to work. But I could not allow young students to operate it. All safety's are there but !!! Fired my new kiln for the first time. One glaze still looks about the same o.0 Think I also messed up the cobalt carbonate.

Had to move most of my house into the garage studio due to home improvements, no throwing for a few weeks :(
Baby sitting the Bailey car kiln on campus today...always a little nervous about firing student work.
cold front is here...highs in the 80s. Firing saggar today and preparing more raku glazed pieces.
Threw my biggest pot this moring, took 2 attempts .. first one fell because the base was to thin.. second turned out to be my best pot so far but i got scared ad left a little to much in the mid section...
The moment, when you just realized, that you forgot to ask a student, if they poked a vent hole in their intricate sculpture, that you are now firing...
