Roto tilled and a planting garden while firing glaze fire

Another long drive today to pick up firing cones and a few other things. The countdown begins.

May 1st is the "soft" launch of my online shop at Lee U Ceramics website. My store collections have enough items to "go live". More to come, of course!

I have chosen an electrician. ***confetti***

Drumming my fingers, waiting to go pick up my kiln in Eugene. Weather and appointments in the way.

Just peeked in my kiln full of test tiles with wood ash mixtures, pastes, and soda washes. Some very very promising results. Can't wait for the next 250F to cool so I can open that beast and spend days looking at every inch of every tile! It has been way too long since I have run a kiln load full of tiles.

Worried my kiln for hire is going away. That would leave me to buy a kiln, -never had one- or drive a long way (4 hrs round trip) and pay a fee.

This is the week of shipping one mug at a time-its brutal

Made it over to Georgie's pottery supply in Eugene yesterday with a friend. First time I've been able to hand pick my stuff. Friend who owns pottery store still firing my stuff in exchange for trimming. Switched from jewelry, just not my bag after giving it a good try, to mosaics. I like the fine art aspect.

Was in S F at the Asian art museum on other business with the museum store and the store director invited me into their first annual sale for local artists at the museum. I thanked her and declined, very nice to get the offer for one of the spots, but it seems like a lot of trouble dragging a bunch of big fragile ceramics around the city to and from the car only to lug most if not all home and paying a huge commission in the process. Probably a mistake passing, but it just doesn't feel like a good fit for me at the moment. Might be something someone else local might want to investigate, there may be an opening for the sale and the director is planning to make this sale annually.

Here's to hoping this puts you in the sphere of 'hard to get' artists. But anyway all you can do is follow your instincts, your explanation for why you passed it up makes perfect sense. It's obvious from the quality of your work there will be more opportunities down the road that will fit you better. Your work is great, it's easy to see why they want it on display.

Hi Folks, sorry I'm back. How's everyone been? Mixed bag for me the last few months while I sold/bought places to live and moved from ID to OR. No time for clay until recently, found my motivation with renewed interest.

Really need to work on something, but slaving night and day to get my house ready for sale. Have to set a couple hours by for art, I'm feeling it's loss. (Of art, not the house ^^)

was gobsmacked by this article, nothing to do with clay but...https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/06/15/seven-percent-of-americans-think-chocolate-milk-comes-from-brown-cows-and-thats-not-even-the-scary-part/?utm_term=.192912713a0c

Well, I finally managed to throw a form over the 12" tall mark. Managed to do it without it wobbling and spiraling. Just think, in another two years I might actually be good at throwing.
