  1. Call for Entries: The Art Students League of Denver will be hosting delecTABLE: The Fine Art of Dining - Fourth Biennial Juried Exhibit of Functional Ceramics in April-May 2018. This is a national exhibition of ceramic works from artists across the United States chosen to represent the best in contemporary tabletop clay. The exhibit will feature ceramic works by juried artists, juror Marty Fielding, the ASLD ceramics faculty and 'cuisine themed' two dimensional artwork by select artists. Juror: Marty Fielding Eligibility: Open to US ceramic artists over age 18. Apply at www.CallforEntry.org between October 2, 2017 and January 22, 2018.   4. The Art Students League of Denver will be hosting delecTABLE: The Fine Art of Dining - Third Biennial Juried Exhibit of Functional Ceramics in April-May 2016. The application process opens October 5, 2015 via www.callforentry.org and the deadline for submissions is January 23, 2016. In conjunction with the exhibit, we will be hosting an artists reception, along with a slide lecture and two day workshop by juror Peter Beasecker (http://peter-beasecker.com/) April 21-24, 2016. Dear All, The Art Students League of Denver will be hosting a slide lecture and two day demonstration/hands-on workshop with Julia Galloway (www.juliagalloway.com) on developing forms, surfaces and ideas for pottery on February 7th-9th, 2014. Discussion will include his incorporation of 3D printing technologies into his ceramic work and his philosophy on and application of wood firing techniques. He grew up in Thornton, Colorado, where he worked as an artist and built a large Anagama kiln. From 1998 to 2002, Balisteri worked with Peter Voulkos, assisting in creating and firing sculptures. Later, Balistreri toured and studied ceramics in China, Japan and Korea. He is currently Professor of Art and the head of the ceramic art program at Bowling Green State University in Ohio where his research team is bridging the gap between art and industry, leading the world in utilizing 3D rapid prototyping technology to create unique ceramic objects.
