  1. I made an album in my gallery with the logo/avatar-proper size-the only photo in it...now how do I get it from there onto the profile? I know nothing about linking to a url..how?

  2. Not happy-I have emailed three different admins omultiple times over a month's time and NOT ONE has even responded-this is about that "dead man" profile I can't get rid of-can't upload any image, and they are the right size. Phooey.

if you go to the website for the parent co. you will find that some of them are gone.

      I sent you a message.

  3. Well, I have expereinced my first disappointing fire-my own doing-nothing wrong with anything technical, just about half of the resulting designs arfe not what I had hoped for; adjustments will be made!

It happens to everyone, you just have to learn from it. Good luck with the next firing.

I have cried over kiln loads. I'm sorry! As long as you figure out what didn't work and what will work better, you'll get better (or at least different) results next time, hopefully closer to what you wanted. One of my designs has taken two years to get where is now and I'm still tweaking it. :) You'll get there!

  4. Not happy, not happy. I went to change my profile picture and no matter what I do---and yes, I have read and tried suggestions/instructions from this site--it will not "take" anything, including my original pic. Phooey.

LeeU, are you trying to use your new logo as your avatar? If so, then I think your image is too large at 2300 pixels wide. Try uploading a smaller version. It only needs to be about 300 pixels wide.

      Still failed ...contacted an administrator.

  5. Happily adding underglazes to pieces I am going to refire in my next bisque load.

  6. Happy with my recent fire; just put a few pendants in my gallery-more to come.

  7. Doing the last of the glazing for my next kiln load. Always exciting to begin to do another one-very grateful for getting back into art.

  8. I tookout my URL for now because I am moving my web site and don't want to put a prolonged "under construction" thing out there.

      glazenerd

I had an URL once, but the meds the doc gave me cured it.

  9. Somewhat slow going, since the guy assisting me with my web design/development is doing it pro bono (i.e. no charge-he owes me LOL) but it's off to a good start and I am psyched about making a functional site with an online store.

It's a process, just like everything else with pots!!

  10. Taking small, managable, bites---I am finding I do much better work if I consciously limit my times & tasks to the time it takes for any body part or cluster of brain cells to start to be uncomfortable. "Quit while you are ahead" is my new daily mantra!

My former small business ofmany years was called Two Steps Forward (as in...one step back), so I guess some of what I learned from that focus was not to try to move too fast LOL.

Move as your feel comfortable with. And then move again. Or wax on, wax off. ;)

  11. Pleased to report my sister was happy with her honey jar set (jar, 1 spoon, 1 dripper, tiny spoon rest, cone burner with bee imprint). I need much more practivce though--it was not what I was originally aiming for, which was to throw the piece, not handbuild it. Need to stretch!

      It was beautiful!!

  12. I put some pics of the honey jar (for my sister) in my gallery.

Left a comment in your gallery.

  13. So glad this site is back!!!!! Thanks to whoever fixed the problem!

  14. AFter trashing several different approaches to my sister's honey jar, I have settled on a carved out solid block with a bit of commercial stamping. Soon to go into the bisque fire.

  16. Trying to make a honey pot for my sister. All I am going to say about this so far is aarrrrgggghhhh.

    1. alabama

      alabama

I hope you mean honey jar. A honey pot is for "night soil", which used to be picked up by a honey wagon to be transported to a honey well out in the country to be spread on gardens. :)

It's shear self-preservation-lack of containment makes me crazy! I even used some masking tape to put labels on shelf edges to keep me "honest"-plus I just plain forget where I get stuff from. Old Lady-great tip-thanks! Appreciate all the comments. Well, I appreciate everything about this site!

It really does look good Lee. You inspired me to rethink my little space. Been measuring and going to rearrange slightly.

  18. Getting ready to test some underglazes in a cone 05 fire; the completed studio reorg is downright inspiring-I can find everything and have more working space!

  19. My reorg just keeps getting better. I found many small containers of clay to reclaim that I did not even know I had, my muscle guy is interested in doing some grunt work, and my landlord made me risers for greenware drywall boards that triple the available space.

One can never have enough shelves :).

  20. Just did a reorg of my studio space, with the help of some hired muscle. Same amount of stuff, but now a good bit more of working space and room for me to move around better. Yee haw!

If I had everything in its place: I would be lost. BUT, being organized would narrow down my searches.

I went through your gallery and was intrigued by your use of form and detail. A unique blending that creates subtle expressions. I was impressed by the thought process behind them.

Thank you!! I am not good at throwing beautiful pots or making

really pretty, precise forms/glaze, but I love the rough and tumble.

I think glazes look good. Really like the White.

  22. My "mixed mess" single fire came out beautifully! And the few pieces that did not do so well taught me what I needed to know.

I always learn the most from my mistakes. The stuff that goes right I get so happy I forget what I did right! Glad you learned so much and got good results at the same time.

This is when you want to play the old Carly Simon classic: "Anticipation"

  24. Score!! A potter in NH is selling off most of her studio, so I got myself over a $100 (retail) worth of tools for $15. Yee haw!

  25. I tweaked my web site a bit more-a lot of of work, need descriptions, a shopping cart, and much more stuff. Probably shouldn't have published it yet, but oh well!
