  1. I was smiling reading your answer, Doris ... I realize how absurd my question was, but to you it should show how novice I am when it comes to communicating in Forms ... the wheel made noise and I freaked ... since then I kept working and after 10 minutes it stops 'shirking'. Thanks for your all immediate responses ...
  2. Does any one know where to find paper template for espresso cup. Thank
  3. I was given an old hand built gas kiln that was used for glass. It is 26 x 27 x 33" I replaced the four burners to venturi burners It is run on natural gas The damper is 9 x 5" It reaches 1,900 degrees in 5 hours or so, but then temp climbs average of 60 degrees I tried four times with slight variations of end temp, left the firing 2 times for 14 hours, but I was never able to reach cone 6. Any suggestions? I noticed the walls are fire bricks but only one layer, could it be that I'm loosing too much heat?
  4. It's an old kiln. 26" x 27" depth x 37 hight Flat top with one brick rise to flue: 5" x 9" It use to have an opening of 11 x 15" and I closed it w/firebrick to 5 x 9" 4 Venturi burners. After 7 hours it reached 1250 F. degrees, and was climbing then very slowly that I ended up shutting it down. First time flue was almost closed 2nd time I left the flue wide open. What should I do? I would like to fire to cone 6 Thanks for your help, Ruty
  5. where should I put peepholes on gas kiln? Bottom, middle or top? It has 4 burners and is about 27"x28x26 Does it matter that the thermocouple is inserted towards the top of the kiln? should I bring it down? I'm looking to convert this hand built old glass kiln to cone 6 ceramic firing.
