Have fun. I made the same run many years ago., on a whim. I was supposed to camp in sequoia.....my campground was. Covered by 4 feet of snow..I had one jacket and 1 pair of pants...didn't think to check I was living in sunny SoCal.......it still I was an an amazing time. Have fun

Glaze day in am after a few days fishing crabs and halibut-back to it for spring gallery orders

I had a small test tile melt glaze onto the shelf. I was able to chisel most of it off but there is still a small amount of glaze adhered to the shelf. Can I kiln wash over that 1-inch spot or does every bit of glaze have to be removed?

Grind as much off as you can like^^^ she said. Grinder is cheap @ harbor freight.

After a month of conquering 4qt bowls, I'm finding myself much happier with 8 pounds of clay and just a 3qt bowl. Yes. That makes be about a 'quart low'...but we've known that for a while, right?

someone asked me to make a garlic shredder which was unfamiliar to me. I looked online and bought one to study. Does anyone make them and if so, what do you use to make the "bumps" that do the shredding? Thanks

Hi, haven't made in awhile buts yes still making, never used mark and daves .... Who makes that.... It's been about a year since throwing porcelain, I had it figured out second day....clay was too wet day one. And it took a day for "it" to click....... I'm throwing a modified Cushing/Galloway body.

A couple of months ago I was looking for gray clay about 55 miles from Slapout when the property owner drove past an abandoned, early 20th c. tenant house falling in on itself. I asked do you want those bricks, and would you trade pottery for them? He can't wait for me to get the bricks so he can enjoy some pottery!!! The house has two chimneys and several pillars for footings. Should be enough for a kiln or two. :>)

Unless you you fire very very very low. Most architectural bricks will not make a good kiln

Yes, I did yesterday, Subconsciously all week,then consciously yesterday. I didn't even finish setting up before I started selling stuff, For a 5 hour show I killed it! I'm sure you will also.!!!

Clear, oatmeal rust, shino with shino rio splash, falls creek shino, vc71 / crimson, VC 71/BOB, vc71/ fcs under randys red/ vc71/ local,ash glaze, local,ash glaze, / seaworld, / ice blue, / bob 2. I was shooting for 100 cups for a trunk show given just under a months notice. I thnk I'm shy of 80.. I realiize I'm no production potter. 20 cups max per,sitting was all I could muster. The wiggle wire while I like was subconcious decision not to trim.then I limited the number do cup...
