Ack! My kiln with brand new elements just misfired. Now I have to wait until it cools down before I can start to investigate. Aggravation.

Up to my ears in packing peanuts today. I hate peanuts. Actually, "hate" is not a strong enough word.

A message from Alice (oldlady) regarding Terry (Pugaboo)
"Terry Buffington, known to us as the vibrant Pugaboo, lost her husband on October 4 to a serious illness. He had been ill and hospitalized for several weeks. I know Terry would be glad to hear from her forum "family". I am sure we all feel part of her loss and would like to express those feelings to her."- Show previous comments 7 more

The aggravating week continues. Now fedex has lost my shipment of custom-printed shopping bags. If they can’t find it, I won’t have time to get them reprinted before my next show.

You mean they weren't headed overseas to G- knows where??? Huh...Fedex is getting its act together???

Another 100° day. Firings kilns in the basement. Window unit A/C working hard. Trying to remind myself that this is better than shoveling 2 ft of snow.

San Diego, CA. median temp 76F, wish I lived there. It is the high 90's with 50%+ humidity. Go out to the studio around 9pm.
-
Hey we had a cool front move in today. It's 90 and humid, my husband and I spent the day grouting a mural I installed last week. I think I must be nuts, my studio is air conditioned but I have been working outside the last two weeks.

Looking at 105-108 for the next couple of days in Citrus Hts, CA. My wife's rooster wakes me at around 5:15 AM to remind me that it's a good time to get out and do stuff while the morning temps are in the 60s. Just have to go to bed early after cooling off in the pool.

Congrats!

Spent the last two days cleaning the studio. Everything is shiny and smells like apple-scented Fabuloso. Today I spilled some glaze on the clean floor and was like "NOOOOOOOO!!"

Mine looks like a bomb hit it. 2nd of 4 Christmas shows begins this Friday. All of them are out of my studio, so cleanup will come at the end.
-
I would clean my studio, but ever since I joined the procrastinators club

Guilt button Callie ??? My kiln controller doesn't seem to have one of those!

Need to dry out and launder my entire display, after a rain-soaked weekend show.

Yeah, that is why I am doing more of the wholesale. My wife is not up to doing markets anymore, and I don't know as I do either. Penn State was fun, but in the long run not really worth it for me back then. Paper work of sales taxes, and other income tax was problematic also. So now, I am not having to do the sales tax and as long as I keep my W-9's and others in order along with my earnings, my tax man is happy.

This brings back so many drenched camping memories.
-
Ha first camping trip I took my new wife on was to Acadia ME. It rained all most the entire trip, Had an old canvas tent of my grand parents! We got soaked, but she wanted to go again the next year, and every year after. First thing we got before leaving the next year was a new tent!
best,

Element changing day. All the pots that were underfired in my recent element faillure have been refired. A few ended up overfired, but most are ok, including the order of 10 plates (phew).

Driving to Chicago for a show this week. Any food suggestions for the northern Chicago suburbs? I will be in the Glencoe area.
-
Kyoto sushi is really good! http://www.kyotoinwinnetka.com/ -- If you happen to be further north west at any time I always go to Himalayan when I am in the area! http://himalayanrestaurant.com/
