Yeah, that is why I am doing more of the wholesale. My wife is not up to doing markets anymore, and I don't know as I do either. Penn State was fun, but in the long run not really worth it for me back then. Paper work of sales taxes, and other income tax was problematic also. So now, I am not having to do the sales tax and as long as I keep my W-9's and others in order along with my earnings, my tax man is happy.

This brings back so many drenched camping memories.

Ha first camping trip I took my new wife on was to Acadia ME. It rained all most the entire trip, Had an old canvas tent of my grand parents! We got soaked, but she wanted to go again the next year, and every year after. First thing we got before leaving the next year was a new tent!

      best,

  3. The aggravating week continues. Now fedex has lost my shipment of custom-printed shopping bags. If they can’t find it, I won’t have time to get them reprinted before my next show.

UPDATE... THE SHOPPING BAGS HAVE BEEN FOUND! Fedex delivered them this afternoon. What a relief.

You mean they weren't headed overseas to G- knows where??? Huh...Fedex is getting its act together???

    4. GEP

I’m not quite willing to say “act together” yet for fedex. They had marked the shipment as delivered almost two weeks ago, but the boxes were still somewhere in their system until yesterday. Tried to ask “what’s the story” and so far nobody knows.

  4. Ack! My kiln with brand new elements just misfired. Now I have to wait until it cools down before I can start to investigate. Aggravation.

Culprit found ... one bad relay. New one is ordered. All the glazes still look like powder, so I think a refire will be fine. Thanks for all the advice, everyone! Benzine I pledge to make better offerings, starting now!

I hope I'm done with that part yesterday.

  6. A message from Alice (oldlady) regarding Terry (Pugaboo)
"Terry Buffington, known to us as the vibrant Pugaboo, lost her husband on October 4 to a serious illness.  He had been ill and hospitalized for several weeks.  I know Terry would be glad to hear from her forum "family".  I am sure we all feel part of her loss and would like to express those feelings to her."

  10. Spent the last two days cleaning the studio. Everything is shiny and smells like apple-scented Fabuloso. Today I spilled some glaze on the clean floor and was like "NOOOOOOOO!!"

Mine looks like a bomb hit it. 2nd of 4 Christmas shows begins this Friday. All of them are out of my studio, so cleanup will come at the end.

  11. Total chaos for the AL wild card race today. Go Orioles!

  12. Element changing day. All the pots that were underfired in my recent element faillure have been refired. A few ended up overfired, but most are ok, including the order of 10 plates (phew).

San Diego, CA. median temp 76F, wish I lived there. It is the high 90's with 50%+ humidity. Go out to the studio around 9pm.

      Denice

Hey we had a cool front move in today. It's 90 and humid, my husband and I spent the day grouting a mural I installed last week. I think I must be nuts, my studio is air conditioned but I have been working outside the last two weeks.

Looking at 105-108 for the next couple of days in Citrus Hts, CA. My wife's rooster wakes me at around 5:15 AM to remind me that it's a good time to get out and do stuff while the morning temps are in the 60s. Just have to go to bed early after cooling off in the pool.

  14. I, too, have just had the best show of my career. What a year for potters everywhere!
