Thanks Babs - someone else obviously liked it too...it sold within a few days of being on display. It’s like meeting up with old friends being back on CAD! -
Thank you - it was all very experimental, but I did mix the glazes myself, so hopefully can reproduce the results when I fire my own raku kiln I think the tile is my favourite too Johnny. -

Slip cast porcelain (own mould). Paper stencil (cut by me) applied when leather hard and wax resist painted over. Stencil removed and image water etched by wiping with damp sponge. Fired in electric kiln to cone 6/7. Battery tealight placed inside! -
Haven’t been active on CAD for a long time - life just became very busy! Thought I’d create a new album of some recent work.

Thrown porcelain vase, cut vertically from rim. Textured slab attached with slip. Copper & cobalt oxide wash applied to bone dry greenware. Bisqued to 1000oC. Transparent glaze poured inside and brushed on textured addition. Fired to 1200oC (cone 6/7). Gold lustre highlights added then fired to 780oC.- 2 comments

Thrown porcelain. Wax resist all over, carved when leather hard. Black underglaze inlay painted over and wiped back. Bisqued to 1000oC. Orange underglaze highlights added. Transparent glaze poured and dipped then fired to cone 6/7. -

Thrown porcelain bottles (sometimes off the hump) - 3-4” tall. Underglaze transfer decoration applied to leather hard clay. Bisqued to 1000oC. Poured and dipped in transparent glaze. Fired to cone 6/7 (1200oC)- 1 comment

Copper & cobalt oxide glazes applied to bisque fired (950oC) pieces. Fired in a dustbin raku kiln at recent kiln building workshop. (1000oC) then plunged into sawdust to reduce. -
Latest kiln opening - White earthenware with texture slabs and copper oxide and cobalt carbonate wash under transparent glaze. Fired to 1080oC.

Haven’t visited CAD for a long time. Interestingly, everyone picks this bowl up and it gets lots of positive comments, but not sold! Have made a few in porcelain more recently, which I really love. Have tried to upload photo, not sure if it’s there yet. -

Realise I forgot to post fired pictures - both these were successful and given away to admiring friends! More in the planning stage. -

Shallow dish with tissue transfer motifs

Yes that's about it Roberta. Stencils with the motif being the negative part (the holes). This one was actually some flower wrapping paper that was holey all over and I cut small pieces, laid them around the bowl, cut small pieces of tissue transfer paper, laid on top, sprayed lightly with water, rubbed them gently with a rubber tipped tool, left to dry then peeled off and removed the stencil. The creamer stencil I made myself on a Silhouette stencil machine, cut from thin plastic film (thin filing wallets) as it's flexible enough for the curves. Same process. Lots of potential and given the price of stencils - quite a good use of them. -

Small dish with homemade tissue transfers

After reading CAD article about making your own transfers, I tried this using a rubber stamp with stain & frit 50:50 mix. Stamped on to tissue paper, applied to leather hard clay. Bisqued to 1000oC. Dipped in transparent glaze & fired to 1100oC in an electric kiln.-

Made for a friend's 50th birthday. Various 'significant' words & phrases stamped inside and out with different letter styles, highlighted with oxide washes before bisque firing. Dipped in transparent glaze & fired to 1100oC in an electric kiln. -
