Dainty Poppy Teacups .... very dainty ... maybe too dainty ...

GiselleNo5

White stoneware, thrown on the wheel as a "chopstick" jar and then altered into a teapot. I added the little hand-shaped flower knob. Fired at ^6 in an electric kiln. Laguna's Dynasty Red and Peach Blush, Duncan Concepts Bright Kiwi as the underglazed leaves and stems.

The teacups were another "first" for me! I threw off the hump for the very first time when I made them. I was totally shocked at how consistent they are in size to each other, almost identical. I was trying for it but I didn't measure. Anyway they only hold 2 ounces of tea. For an EXTREMELY dainty tea party!! Although they look delicate they feel very strong. LOL I'd prefer that the teapot and cups as well held double what they do now, so four cups in the teapot and four ounces in the cups. Better next time!!
